CaterTech supplies commercial kitchen equipment, refrigeration, beverage equipment, restaurant supplies, and related products from various manufacturers. Warranty coverage may vary depending on the product, manufacturer, and specific warranty terms applicable to the item purchased.
This policy explains how product warranties are generally handled.
Manufacturer Warranty Coverage
Many products sold by CaterTech may include a warranty provided directly by the product manufacturer.
Warranty periods, coverage, exclusions, service procedures, and eligibility requirements vary by manufacturer and product.
Where manufacturer warranty information is available, customers should review the applicable warranty documentation supplied with the product or made available by the manufacturer.
CaterTech does not extend, modify, or replace a manufacturer’s warranty unless expressly stated in writing.
Warranty Claims
If you experience a potential warranty issue with a product purchased from CaterTech, please contact us with:
- Your name
- Order number
- Product name and model
- Serial number, where applicable
- Description of the issue
- Photographs or video where helpful
- Date the issue was first noticed
Our team will review the information and, where appropriate, assist you with identifying the applicable manufacturer warranty process.
Manufacturer Requirements
A manufacturer may require additional information before approving warranty service, including proof of purchase, model and serial numbers, photographs, diagnostic information, or confirmation of professional installation.
Warranty claims remain subject to the applicable manufacturer’s terms, conditions, and approval procedures.
Installation Requirements
Commercial equipment should be installed according to the manufacturer’s instructions and applicable electrical, gas, plumbing, ventilation, building, and safety requirements.
Where professional installation is required, customers should use appropriately qualified technicians.
Improper installation may affect warranty eligibility.
Customers are responsible for verifying product requirements before installation, including:
- Voltage
- Electrical phase
- Amperage
- Gas type
- Plumbing requirements
- Drainage
- Ventilation
- Required clearances
- Equipment dimensions
What May Not Be Covered
Warranty exclusions vary by manufacturer. Depending on the applicable warranty, coverage may exclude issues resulting from:
- Improper installation
- Incorrect electrical supply or voltage
- Incorrect gas connection
- Improper plumbing or drainage
- Misuse or abuse
- Accidental damage
- Unauthorized modifications
- Improper maintenance
- Normal wear and tear
- Commercial conditions outside the product’s intended use
- Damage occurring during unauthorized transportation or relocation
Customers should refer to the applicable manufacturer’s warranty for the exact exclusions.
Shipping Damage Is Not a Warranty Claim
Damage occurring during transportation should be reported as shipping damage, rather than as a manufacturer warranty claim.
Customers receiving freight shipments should inspect the shipment at delivery and document visible damage on the carrier’s delivery receipt whenever possible.
Please refer to our Shipping & Delivery Policy for complete freight-damage instructions.
Returns vs. Warranty Claims
A return and a warranty claim are different processes.
Eligible unused products may qualify for return under our 30-Day Returns & Refunds Policy.
A product that has been installed or used and subsequently develops a potential manufacturing defect may instead be subject to the applicable manufacturer’s warranty.
Replacement Parts
Depending on the manufacturer’s warranty and nature of the issue, a warranty resolution may involve:
- Replacement parts
- Technical assistance
- Repair
- Authorized service
- Product replacement
The appropriate resolution is determined according to the applicable manufacturer’s warranty terms.
Labor & Service Costs
Labor, diagnostic, travel, installation, removal, or reinstallation costs are not automatically covered by every manufacturer warranty.
Customers should review the applicable warranty terms before arranging third-party repairs or service.
Unauthorized repair work may affect warranty eligibility.
Do Not Perform Unauthorized Repairs
If you believe equipment has a manufacturing defect, contact CaterTech or the applicable manufacturer before performing repairs or modifications.
Do not dispose of defective parts or equipment while a warranty claim is under review unless instructed to do so.
